LOL, and another month goes by. I have to update it with something, anything, on a monthly basis or risk getting the whole thing deleted, and I haven't moved it all off here yet. Just one more thing to do!

Almost a year has gone by and I still haven't managed to find a new home that has all the features that this one does. *sigh* I'm working on though, promise!

I am starting to slowly move stuff off of this site onto the family site (SoCalJourneys.blogspot.com) This site has been great but it's time to consolidate, it's easier for me! ;) I'll let you know when this site will be taken down though, and also how you can subscribe to the new one for updates if you'd like!

    32 miles.

    Roughly 45 minutes.

    That's our record so far.

That's the longest car ride we've taken with Kian that he didn't cry.

    AT ALL.

The whole trip!! Both there, and the same 32 miles back home.

It was quite the (VERY PLEASANT) experience.

I'm so proud of my boy...such a smart baby. Finally figuring out that, see...it's not so bad!!

Then again, that was Saturday morning.

    Saturday afternoon??

He cried the whole way over to a place right down the road from our house, that literally takes MAYBE 3-4 minutes.

    *sigh*

Just keeping me on my toes I guess!

Then again, he did sleep for 10 hours straight last nite so he can get away with quite a bit right now!

    Comments:
Elaine:  Ten hours straight. I still don't think my kids do that very often now. Wow....
Auntie Carolyn:  Oh do I remember those days! Benjamin used to scream every time I went 2 blocks to pick the kids up from school! Now he can't communicate what he wants so he is bad most of the time in the car and at restaurants....and he always takes his right shoe and sock off every time we are in the car! Glad Kian is sleeping through the night, give all the boys hugs for me :)

Kian had his 2 month checkup today. Amazing that he's already that old and yet it seems like he's been here a lot longer! I was quite amazed and amused to find that his stats are...

    Height...22 3.4 inches - in the 55 percentile
    Weight...13 lbs 15 oz - in the 95 percentile!!!!!

Talk about CHUNKY MONKEY!! LOL He's grown over 4 inches in length and put on almost 6 lbs!!!

All I can say is....Mama's milk ROCKS!!!

He's still perfectly healthy, everything checked out really good. He got 4 shots and a oral 'shot' for the rotovirus. I hated seeing him get his shots...it seems so barbarian! There should totally be a different way to get 'shots' by now, dontcha think??? I mean, come on...it's 2008!!

Speaking of '08...today's the BIG DAY for elections....can't wait to find out how everything plays out!!

Eight weeks ago today Kian Andrew came into our world. Since then, the weeks have flown at times at the speed of light and others at a slow tick-tock. Every minute is a blessing, every time I look at him my heart swells with love and I always smile. When he's fussy or crying, I still smile and enjoy this time. The verse from I Samuel 1:27..."for THIS child I prayed" plays through my head a lot as it's just oh so true. For over 3.5 years...for THIS child I prayed. I could just watch him all day, though obviously, I can't quite pull that off as I get nothing else done, lol!

The past 3 nites he's slept through the nite, though his 'first' nite was last Tuesday. He did it for 2 nites then went back to waking around 3ish, eats and goes right back to sleep. However, his sleeping habits during the day are a lot less predictable. While he does still sleep a lot he does it in short bits and pieces, 20-30 minutes at a time, sometimes more, sometimes less, but never in a predictable pattern. Which means I can't PLAN to do XYZ while he's sleeping as I'm not sure when that'll be! LOL I'm hoping that eventually (and sooner, rather than later) he'll settle down into more of a routine of 2-3 hour naps in the morning & afternoon.

He's gotten very aware of things going on around him in the past couple weeks. He's very strong and has had really good head control for quite awhile. Not that his head doesn't still bobble but a lot less than his brothers at this age. He can sit in his Bumbo seat with a little support from a burp cloth or blanket and enjoys it as he's sitting up and able to see what's going on. At times I swear he's just itching to get down and run around with his brothers! He gives me a look that seems to say "I don't have time for this baby stuff, I've got years to catch up on...lemme go!!" LOL

We went to Las Vegas a couple weekend's ago for a family reunion. He handled the car ride pretty good, considering how much he doesn't care for his car seat and the car! We only had to stop twice to get him settled down (once he starts REALLY screaming the only thing that stops it is getting him out of the car or letting him scream/cry for 30-45 minutes, which just doesn't really work for us!!) I sat in the back with him and that helped a lot. The boys rode out with my parents as they had left before us and of course had less stops. They were able to get there and go swimming which is what they really wanted to do, and we were able to take our time and stop when we needed to without feeling rushed. The rest of the weekend felt a bit rushed as we had a lot of running around to do for various things, not the least of which was getting stuff ready for James' bday party on the 19th. My baby turned 6!! Hard to believe but already, especially since Kian got here, he's gotten so big! He lost his second tooth right before we left so is getting to be a pro at the Tooth Fairy thing, lol. We had a lot of fun visiting with family but were really happy to get home Monday nite!! The trip back was about the same though with a couple more stops cuz Kian just didn't want to be in the car at all! He did finally settle down and go to sleep and we made it home a couple hours after my parents and the boys (though, they left an hour or so ahead of us, so it wasn't THAT bad)

Next Tuesday Kian has an appt for his 2 month checkup. I'm not looking forward to it as it's his first round of shots. I hate it when the baby's get their shots!! I know he needs them and I've already been through this twice and should be a pro at it now, but just thinking about it makes me wanna cry! :( Blech...don't like it! But, the flipside is we'll get his new measurements! I think he's already around 13 lbs!!! I've weighed him at home and he's around that now, so we'll see what the official weight is on Tuesday. And his length...THAT's what I wanna know cuz I know he's LONG! He's so cute and adorable, he's getting those chunky-monkey rolls, chubby legs and squeezable parts everywhere. He's just scrumptious, lol. Not that I'm biased or anything! ;)

I posted some pics from our trip to Mickey's Trick-or-Treat party at California Adventure. We had a lot of fun though all of our feet were killing us! The boys were falling asleep walking out of the park, they were soooo exhausted. Kian of course had the best ride around, he was all snuggled down in his warm 'Bundle Me' blanket and slept through 3/4 of the nite's events. When he was awake we had him sitting up in the stroller and he was taking in all the sites and sounds, definitely a lot more exciting than his usual evenings!!

Well, speaking of evening, I need to get to bed since it's already almost midnite! I'll post again next week after his appt to update everyone on his stats and whatnots.

Carol and Clint:  Well as you can see with the boys time flys so PLEASE take pictures and enjoy all those cute little things and when they graduate you can look back and show them. We had baby powder episodes and toilet paper drug thoughout the house and she wasn't even walking.

Whew!! It's been quite awhile since I updated, huh? It's been...good, for the most part, around here, just been working on settling in, trying to find my 'feet', finding the rhythm and routine that is so completely new. I think it's been harder to go from 2 to 3 than it was from 1 to 2, but I also think it's prolly due to the ages. When James came along I was still in the 'groove' of having a 'baby' even though Jake was almost 3 by then. We were still dealing with diapers when I got pg, I had only stopped nursing him about 7-8 months before, etc. Plus, Jake took naps, etc, he was a toddler, very close to babyhood!

NOW though, it's rare that either take a nap though we do still have quiet time when Mommy needs QUIET time (and/or a nap!) James is in 1st grade, Jake's in 3rd, and both are here all the time as they're homeschooled. That has been a blessing and a curse the last couple weeks; on one hand there's the pressure that 'school' has started (though being a homeschool family we've just adjusted our calendar so we've pretty much taken this month off to alleviate stress on me AND them and also make it easer to adjust to Kian in the mix, and we'll make it up later in the year) and the blessed relief of not having to get them up and going and off to school every morning, which is really nice!! That said, we have done a little bit of "school" things every day as life itself is always a learning experience so it's all good.

Kian's doing quite well. He continues to grow and change daily, it's so amazing to watch him, he's my favorite show!! He had his 2 week checkup last week with his FABULOUS new pediatrician and had gained a whole pound in a week!! I knew it just by looking at him when we were in the waiting room, I told Alex...you watch, he's gained a pound! And yep, Mommy rocks, totally right on. So as of last Thursday he was 9 lbs, 1 oz. He weighs more now but his next checkup isn't til he's 2 months old, which I know will be here before we know it!! I can tell by looking at him this week though that he's gotten longer and put on some more weight, he's growing by leaps and bounds!!

Just an fyi, I'll be posting more and more on the 'family' website ( http://socaljourneys.blogspot.com ) now since Kian's here. I've loved having this site while pregnant but want to incorporate all of this into our family blog instead of having another separate one 'just for Kian'. I'll still post here for awhile longer but soon will just be over there, and I'll let you know when that happens when it happens. ;)

Though...blogging at all isn't happening much lately, lol. This post has taken me FOUR days to write!! I started on this at 12:30 on Wednesday and here it is, 9:30 Saturday morning!!

Speaking of time, I gotta git. My friend and awesome photographer Paige is coming over in just a little bit to take pics of the baby!! I can't wait to see how they turn out, her pics always turn out so awesome!!! Her site is http://www.dreamlandphotography.net so you can see some of her awesome pics. Oh, and speaking of pics, I have a bunch to upload of Kian, it's just 'one more thing' to do that I haven't had time/energy to do lately, but at least I haven't been remiss in TAKING the pics (just in posting them!)

But check back soon, I should have them up in the next couple days!!
